Sorry about that Big3, yeah, I have both of them. Just brain farting. I knew it sounded familiar. He's got a slaughterhouse fixation.
Blastingas, yeah, Buckethead and Jonas Hellborg make some good ish together. That track right there is particularly rockin'. Speaking of Travis Dickerson, the work Buckethead does adjacent to Travis on keys is phenomenal as well. That group is called Thanatopsis (and the Chicken Noodles albums). It goes a little somethin like this: And some may disregard Buckethead's work with Cornbugs, but I can't. It's generally goofy music, sure, but it's plenty enjoyable. I enjoy driving in the country listening to songs like Spot the Psycho, I Want Me A Clone, Arm Torn Off By a Train, Hey Pipe Man, and Sacramento. Cornbugs is BH with Bill Moseley and Brian "Brain" Mantia (love Brain!!) |

A. this Thanatopsis stuff is incredible. A little on the polished side but otherwise really good.
B. Spot the Psycho is definitly on one of the albums I own from BH. I wonder how often they send songs to multiple albums. He did an album with Les Claypool at one point (I think) that had a blue background and this giant brown squid like thing on the cover. Anyone know what the hell I'm talking about? Some to all of that might be incorrect.

Yes that one. Is it worth buying?
How was the show, Mr. Zoon?

I thought it was just alright. Relatively short tracks for the most part so I didn't find myself getting bored with it. Then again, I thought the high point of the album was a ten minute instrumental track (Elephant Ghost). Might as well give it a listen if you dig most of Buckethead or Claypool's other stuff.

Next to Elephant Ghost, Ignorance is Bliss has to be my favorite track. The other tracks really stand the test of time as well. Bernie Worrell really helps make a lot of that magic, but they're all phenomenal musicians. I LOVE Brain, the drummer, on ... everything. I'm a huge Claypool fanatic, as well as BH. I got into Buckethead from this album, as a matter of fact. ===== Thanatopsis, there's a good couple albums. 4 or 5 at least... About repeat songs, BH is guilty of that to a small extent but it doesn't really occur TOO often. If you have everything he's ever made, it's not too surprising to hear a repeat. Like on the "In Search of the..." boxset, he borrows a particular drum tracking and used it on Captain Eo. As far as songs repeating from Cornbugs to say ... old school Buckethead album... Spot the Psycho was a big single for Cornbugs so it doesn't surprise me that he wanted to use it on his solo album as well... |

This should be enough to convince you to get the album.
