I have no idea how to do that. If you do then sure.

I'm a fan of Patton's and I still must agree with your thoughts on his releases. I would just have to say maybe 25% of Patton's solo stuff is as you say, but I still agree. You did, however, list Moonchild as a positive release, and as much as I enjoyed watching Patton's Looney Tunes for adults -esque 10 minute vocal solo and wankery, it feels like a stunt or exposition of range. Incredible, but that's about it. =============================================== I think that Buckethead has earned a right to stand at the side or at least a half pedestal down from the likes of Zorn, Zappa, Laswell, Frith, with his vast collection. He's quickly gaining on the masters of large discographies, and I'd say he's 67% golden material to 33% "Really, did you need to record this?" I'd probably say a 2/3 ratio is what I think of Zorn and Zappa as well, though I only have a couple things by Laswell and Frith. Last edited by Mrd00d; 11-14-2011 at 10:53 AM. |

Emotion: Hendrix
Sensuality: Hendrix Creativity: Hendrix Diversity: Buckethead Influence: What do you mean? When put into perspective of the time era, Hendrix wins hands down. What Hendrix was doing at the time was unheard of, and no one else was coming close to being able to play and create music that way. Whereas Buckethead is very fascinating and inventive, you've heard other people playing this way in a 'similar fashion, not to mention Buckethead is nowhere near the composer that Hendrix was. Without Hendrix there wouldn't be a Buckethead, he opened the doors wide open. Then again, this is like apples & oranges |
