I'm a fan of many artists and bands. I don't think all of them have superb albums. I guess most people listen to very little music or they think everything they listen to superb.

i think the word to describe you is "exasperating"

in your DT thread, you said you liked them then you say they're like "computer with no software"

here, you say Malmsteen plays with emotion, then slags off G3 which are about the same kind of musicians who value technicality over "soul" (though i have to say i like Vai, Satriani and Johnson way more than Malmsteen)

for me, if i love some act, it's the be-all and end-all, i find no fault with Swans, Einsturzende Neubauten, Sonic Youth, In Flames or My Bloody Valentine

It's impossible to like a band with weaknesses?

You say you like Korn and at the same time say Dream Theater is one of the worst bands of all time.

Good for you. In reality no matter what band we're talking about they all have weaknesses.

Btw everyone thinks their opinions make sense (even I). In reality they are just opinions. You think Korn is better than Dream Theater? Think as you like. The same applies to me. Since we disagree that is why we debate about it.

Once you cross the line and call someone a troll because their opinions don't match up with yours you've pretty much lost the right to say you like Justin Beiber.
can i get it into that thick skull of yours that I'm not saying you're a troll for liking DT

it's your incessant attacks of "legends" (to use Unknown Soldier's phrase) with quite baseless claims and devoid of merit

anyway, while we're at it - unleash your barrage on Black Sabbath, The Who, The Kinks, David Bowie, Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly, Yes et al......

Not really. Remember this is the internet and words can only be looked at from the surface.

There's nothing wrong with that. I respect your opinion. That's why it's annoying when you forget that others have their own opinions too and many of those opinions might differ greatly. So calling someone a troll and saying their opinions are ridiculous while at the same time expecting others to respect your opinions is irrational.

They are musicians who all have weaknesses. Why in fact some of those bands were not even respected in their time.

You talk about being baseless etc. Remember these are all opinions. Most of what people say on this forum is not factual. It's all opinion. I've given my reasons for why I think certain artists are not perfect but in the end it's just opinion.

you said this:-

Quote:
The Beatles- Horrible vocals, cheesy lyrics, average drumming
Led Zeppelin- Sloppy guitar playing, screeching vocals, plagiarism
Black Sabbath- Repetitive, juvenile lyrics
Metallica- Emotionless, unimpressive vocals
Jimi Hendrix- Sloppy, soulless
AC/DC- Radio music...all the time
exactly how much percentage of the music listening population in the world will agree to all that?

0.0000000000000001%? only you?

Why should I care if others agree with me? It's my opinion. Many people would disagree that Korn is better than Dream Theater. Does that mean you're going to change your opinion? No. Because you value your opinion even if others don't.
