Calexico - Sunken World Waltz
Blue Öyster Cult - Last days of May Elliot Smith - Waltz #2 There's so many songs that grabbed me really well the first time :D |
Arcade Fire - No Cars Go
Radiohead - Karma Police Those are the two tracks I think of first when I think of tracks that I experienced profoundly upon the first ever listen. |
Yeah, agree with those mentioned. Certain songs do grow on me, and become more enjoyable, but some just fade away the more I listen to them (in a short time frame).
"I Could Be Dreaming" by Belle and Sebastian is a song I enjoyed muchly on the first listen. |
I thought about it, and just any old favourite song won't do. I liked a lot of songs at first listen, but came to love them with repeated runs. The number of songs that have amazed me the first time I heard them is limited.
Add the Decemberists' Sons & Daughters to the list. |
Another one. It was late at night and a friend of mine sent me Tool's "Pu****".
I almost cried, really. It's so brilliant. |
Neu! - Negativeland
My Bloody Valentine - Soon The Gun Club - Sex Beat Afghan Whigs - My Curse Gospel - Paper Tigon Amon Duul II - Kanaan Velvet Underground - Venus in Furs Boards of Canada - An Eagle in your Mind I can remember all of these songs hitting me for six when I first head them, I'd like to experience that feeling again. There are a few more that I can't quite recall at this particular point. |
alright by supergrass

You Trip Me Up - Jesus & Mary Chain
I Will - Beatles Soon - My Bloody Valentine Creep - Radiohead Whole Lotta Love - Led Zep I Want You - Dylan Cowgirl in the Sand - Neil Young Sympathy for the Devil - Rolling Stones Flight of the Behemoth - Sunn O))) Supernaut - Black Sabbath and many many more - to list all would take me days |
Wild Horses-The Rolling Stones
|
Hmm.. off the top of my head I can only think of one song in particular, "Marquee Moon" by Television. Everything seemed to line up just right for that song when I first head it in '06, it really was one of those "wow" moments for me. Definitely happy my first ever experience was on vinyl too, that probably made it so awesome.
