Well they didn't really interact with each other, but Green did seem to be genuinely enjoying himself. I was watching him for signs of ennui but he seemed to be really in the moment, and his bass was a major driving force of every song. I think I even saw him smiling a few times.

I saw Foster the People last Friday; it was freaking fantastic. The utterly smashed crowd was kind of irritating before the show, but once they came on everybody was dancing and clumsily high-fiving one another and it was a great time. The frontman was kind of stoic given how lively the music is but somehow he made it work very well.

Acid Mothers Temple

Well **** that was one of the best and most intense live experiences I've ever had. These guys were a massive psychedelic wall of sound, and they went in the noisier direction with less jammier elements than some of their studio work. Don't miss these guys if they're ever playing near you, I know I won't.

The opening act OGOD was decent, some noisy punk stuff that definitely had its moments. The second act, Perhaps, was incredible though. They have an eclectic blend of noise and math rock and are all talented musicians. I'd like to see Perhaps again if I get the chance.

Survival Knife
Hungry Ghost
California

to start a fun day record shopping and book shopping with my friend Carson in the big city....meeting up with WhateverDude at the show and getting there seconds before the opening band California started

unfortunately California really lacked.....the drums were great and the band had something....it just didn't come across live.....i spoke with the bass player and they'll have some recorded material soon.....i'll check it out but honestly just don't think it's my type of thing....still really nice guys

Hungry Ghost was interesting but really seemed to be missing something in my opinion.....turns out that something was their bass player.....i ended up grabbing a shirt and their album.....the album which has all three members is actually quite good....and i can think of at least three people here i'll forward it to just because i really think they'll dig what they're doing

and then Survival Knife....whose album i've been listening to almost non stop for a week.....2/3s of one of my all time favorite bands Unwound came to the stage and seriously fucking killed it.....a great set full of just great noisy post hardcore.....the music really fit the venue.....and when these guys blow up i can proudly say that i caught them in a venue with only 50 people there....two of whom i would call friend .....and i fell in love with their bass player....

overall a great night with great people that ended with coffee and donuts at a place called Bob's

I saw those guys in Seattle about 10 years ago and they blew me away. LIke you said, just a massive sound they put out but melodic and amazing. Like really good Sonic Youth only with Japanese singing. I would see them again in a minute.

I saw a ska band on Saturday night called Los Furios because a friend had an extra ticket. They were alright, but the venue and the setup was just really weird. It was this weird mixture of birthday party and punk show, but in an old jazz dancehall. At first there was a DJ playing latin dance music, then ended with "Paint It Black" and the studio recording of "Stairway to Heaven", and then gave way to a really generic sounding stoner rock band that just bored me to tears. Los Furios definitely have some good energy to them, but they're not going to be the band to get me into ska.

Damn, I need to get out more. I haven't heard of most of the bands mentioned here.

That's a good description of their sound, I really loved the synth guy. The bassist did a lot of throat singing to that was really ****ing awesome. Quite a mind shattering show (literally, I got a concussion and a sense of enlightenment during their performance of Pink Lady Lemonade.)
