Maybe they only publish their results telepathically.

I don't think I've ever had a song running through my head due to someone else thinking about that song or "sending" it to me mind-to-mind. I don't think any thought running through my head is there due to telepathy. When I am thinking of a song, many simpler explanations exist that explain why this occurs, such as my brain is retrieving my own memory of the song.

I think the idea that a person's mind can directly affect someone else's mind (or any object) is intriguing but not based on science and is just wishful thinking. At its worst, a person's belief that he is hearing voices and thoughts of others is a sign of mental illness (as with schizophrenia, an illness you mentioned).

This made me curious about James Randi. Here's a good video I just watched about James Randi that describes his exposing fake telepaths as frauds:

James Randi exposes Uri Geller and Peter Popoff

The segment at the end of the video features "faith healer" Peter Popoff. I was horrified to see how he deviously duped gullible audience members with cancer and other ailments into believing he had cured them. All the while, the fake "faith healer" was simply being prompted through a wireless earpiece by his wife, who was using information about audience members' private lives and ailments from the cards they filled out before the show. Popoff was getting $4,000,000 per year "healing" people! Thanks to James Randi, Peter Popoff was exposed as a fraud and later went bankrupt.

The way this fake "healer" preyed on people's willingness to believe in miracle cures and telepathy, causing people with cancer to think that they were cured, was heartlessly cruel! A despicable man, that fake faith healer, claiming that ailments were caused by the Devil and that God would heal people, and then claiming he had cured them himself as God's instrument. I wish people weren't so easily willing to believe in telepathy on scant evidence.

Other "telepaths," those who truly believe they have telephatic powers...I just feel sorry for them. As James Randi said in the video above, I want to live as much as possible in reality, not duping myself into believing something that isn't true.

That was a funny joke, fazstp. I'm glad I don't have telepathy, because not only would I have all sorts of unwanted music (and other things, like telepathic publications) going through my mind, but also I'd be able to predict punchlines and would never laugh at anything!
