It's the other way around. Mediocre people listen to mediocre music and make mediocre choices, which are stupid, in general. I agree with you when you say that some music is for dumber people than other music. But it's not the other way around.
Speaking of which, the people I know that are no good, definitely won't listen to the beatles .

You're right, there are some differences between then and now. For example, we no longer have the rampant institutionalized racism and sexism that they had back then. Apparently you see that as a bad thing though.

I would love to live through the 60's and 70's, but I know it'd be doomed.
Things aren't getting worse. They are getting more complicated.

(what could have been)..did you read that part?

The one trait that is most despicable is cowardice and that trait runs in just about every American.

So do you see our culture's attempts to move beyond racism and sexism as a good thing or as a bad thing?

Did you know no one talked of global warming before The Beatles sang "Here Comes The Sun"....damn Beatles.

American culture was pretty milquetoast before The Beatles so I would say The Beatles made American culture better to say otherwise is crackpot, or maybe step away from the crack-pipe.

You disagree that being a coward is a bad thing?

Let's move beyond racism and sexism but at the same time keep mediocrity out. I'm sure racism and sexism could have been solved without the British Invasion.

You have a hard time keeping track of what you're arguing don't you?
