Are there any bluegrass artists that you guys think can sway my sour opinion of the genre? I like technicality and good melodies throughout, I'm prepared to let my opinion change if you guys have any suggestions. If the answer is drink more moonshine, I'll gladly take you up on it.

I don't really dislike any sort of genre specifically, but if I had to name one it would have to be country since it is my least favourite.

Country music isn't all Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash, although I can't see why anybody would dislike Johnny Cash.
The following could all be described as country in some degree.

try the O Brother Where Art Thou soundtrack

it's mostly modern bluegrass with a heavy alt/indie flavor

if you don't like that, i highly doubt you're gonna like any bluegrass

and moonshine won't help

I'll check it out. Love the movie so it's only fitting that I enjoy the the soundtrack. Thanks, Duce.

I really not a fan of deathcore-ish stuff. Typically I enjoy the instrumentals, but I just can't get past the vocals. I don't like all the growling and guttural screaming, it grates on my ears and a lot of the time sounds silly to me.

I used to feel that way until I realized that I didn't need to take the vocals seriously to enjoy the music. In fact, I think I prefer not taking it seriously.
