In no order:

The Ballad Of Dorothy Parker
Purple Rain
I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man
Live 4 Love
The Beautiful Ones
Life 'O' The Party
Strange Relationship

I have only got 4 albums, so there must be plenty more that I can add to make a top ten.

I can't seem to get into Prince's earlier stuff but I love quite a few of his songs with The New Power Generation. Funky stuff. <3 I haven't really heard any of his newer music, though.

Same here! I love the hi hat sound on this track, probably the best I have ever heard.

Really love Prince. Probably my favourite '80s artist, ahead of other bands I love like The Smiths and that.

Top 10 tracks would be something like, in no order:

Under The Cherry Moon
Around The World In A Day
Paisley Park
Little Red Corvette
Controversy
Dirty Mind
Kiss
When You Were Mine
When Doves Cry
Alphabet St.

Favourite Prince album is Around The World In A Day.

EDIT: and about that Prince being anti-internet conversation a few pages back - wasn't Prince one of the first major label artists to start releasing music via the internet?

Prince is way up there on my favorites list. 50% of the reason I like him is because of his personality and charisma. I love how sure he is about himself, and I think it really makes an impact on the originality of his music....And original, it is. I would murder to be able to go to one of his concerts. I've heard he only does a concert every once in a while, but when he does, he pours his heart and soul into it.

There's not a song of his I hate, but I am especially fond of "The Beautiful Ones", and of course "When Doves Cry"

His style is so unique and refreshing, I really need to get more albums.

Prince has got a high cringe factor with me. Sign of the Times has some great material on but I can't stand the songs that he sounds like a chipmunk (Housequake), as well as You Got the Look (Ugh! Sheena Easton). But what kept my interest was his ability to turn an original tune. His best most consistent album was "Parade"

1> Kiss
2> Around the World in a Day
3> Sign of the Times
4> Lady Cab Driver
5> The Beautiful Ones
6> Raspberry Beret
7> Alphabet St.
8> Controversy
9> Mountains
