On the topic of the youtube silence orders, yes, Prince himself is largely behind it according to what I've read. In fact it's been somewhat of a controversial topic. About a year ago Prince decided he was going to sue both ebay and youtube for their failure to filter out unauthorized content.

I think the dude's just massively anti-internet overall, i'm pretty sure he's against his image being used anywhere at all.

Yep. He converted a couple years ago. He doesn't play a lot of his more sexual songs in concert any more because of it.

ETA: How funny would it be if he came knocking on your door one day with a copy of The Watchtower?

his girl band Vanity left in 1983

he was at the top of everything for the 1999 album

he still did collaborations

nothing dramatic that i could find
