The Purple One has an EP out tomorrow, six tracks from 2006-2008. EP here:
http://www.theverge.com/2017/4/19/15...eased-download Purple Rain Deluxe track list: Disc three looks great. Two concert DVDs included too. I think one is from 1983/4. There is a show with Bobby Friction on 6 Music on Sunday, I will upload it for all the Prince fans. |

I listened to it 3 times yesterday and twice today
and the title track is the standout - BUT that doesn't mean that the rest is bad. It's just that I can hear how it might not have passed the test for Prince, The Perfectionist. A mix that is more maximalist and the occasional highs that don't quite make it, sounds a bit like his usual remaking of 60's psych with 70's soul, but a little bit strained. Kinda like Sly Stone doing Queen on Sunrise Sunset. I'm still living with it. Right now: 7.5/10. It'll probably go up. |
