Diet and Fitness of Guitar Players 40+

Being a guitar player over 40, I am interested in finding out what other guitar players in the same demographic do to stay fit and what their diet consists of?

Most all professional artist that have to perform/tour on a regular basis have some kind of physical preparation, whether it is simply just jumping rope (for example) running, hiking, whatever the case may be.

If you are a (lead or backup) vocalist, multiply every aspect "times ten"!

Or you can just consume drugs and alcohol until your body, or the tour itself is done/over.

Drugs, Porn, Alcohol and dart boards with pictures of Yngvie Malmsteen and Joe Satriani.

Or nothing at all. Gary Holt is not far from 50 and plays guitar in Exodus (his own band) and Slayer now. Sometimes the bands are both on the same bill and he gives 110% for both bands in the same night.

Lee Altus plays for Heathen (his own band) and Exodus the same as Holt and often on the same bill. Maybe they do have fitness regimes but I doubt it. Mental regimes maybe? I hope not. I would like to think of them draining power from satanic rituals performed in pentagrams drawn in chalk upon floors in holy places.

What has fitness, diet and age got to do with playing a guitar?

My best friend's dad is a guitarist in a band, and I seriously went ahead and asked him what he does to keep in shape.

He said:

He watches his calories, eating about 900 calories per day, taking a 25-30 minute walk each day, and doing 30 minutes of cardio 5 times a week. (His cardio is treadmill.)
