Yes, agreed. "21 Guns" has a similar stink to it, but at least it has decent lyrics. Billy Jo Armstrong doesn't seem to sing about love with any passion. It's like he is lecturing.

I wanna hear some ambience of birds chirping in the background accompanied by a waterfall followed by a 17 minute prog epic. Not a song with 4 chords with a 30 second guitar solo. I really liked Genesis' older stuff and in my humble opinion phil should've stayed behind the drum kit. His music just doesn't do it for me. Probably one of my least favorite Genesis tracks. |

Now that you comment Phil Writer, he was questionable to be on my table for "I Cannot Conceive It's Sincere." Horn-based with repetitive, silly lyrics. It charted okay, but rightfully has been forgotten. Also, Van Halen's "Hot for Educator," because it has silent lyrics and I don't suchlike the important riff and stop-and-go pacing. Symmetrical the guitar solo doesn't run me for many ground.

I could have done the whole American Psycho shtick, but I opted not to. I mean, Invisible Touch had both Land Of Confusion and In Too Deep, and they're in my opinion two of the finest Genesis songs of all time. |
