Default Have You Become a Bigger Fan of a Band Than the Friend Who Introduced You To Them?

I find this happens to me all the time. I have friends who introduced me to a bunch of bands like The Cinematics and White Lies (to name a couple) and I become a huge fan. Then it turns out I buy all the albums (that these "fans" don't own) and my friends are asking me for updates on the latest albums, concerts and news.

Anyone have this happen?

Yeah bud.

My pal Kit introduced me to The Cribs, over a year ago.
I don't listen to much indie bands, but I'm still pretty high on them.
Considering going to see them live.

However, he no longer listens to the band, his girlfriend turned him emo...

Not quite the same as your story OP, but yeah..I do know of people who go off of bands/artists because others start to like them lol.

Someone nonchalantly introduced me to Aesop Rock, showing me the lyrics book that came with one of the EPs. He thought it was cool, I thought it was amazing. I became a rabid fanatic of all Aesop Rock related media.

For me being introduced, it was Dalek. My friend had one album and enjoyed one song. For me, they've moved into my shifting top 5 of favorite musicians.

My friend was a casual listener of Linkin Park when he introduced them to me. Before this I had a very subjective view that because Linkin Park had rap in it they would automatically be crap. However I've since listened to their last two albums and I must admit they have both been great, especially A Thousand Suns.

Anyway in a weird turn of events my friend hates ATS and he doesn't have much interest in the band anymore in general.

Yeah. My friend was a minor fan of Alter Bridge and he introduced me to them one day because he thought I would like their song "One Day Remains." They are now one of my favourite bands.

the only person who had a mega influence on me was this Belgian girl in college who intro'd me to the Ramones and Pixies

i suppose now she's like totally disinterested in them, but i am on the contrary

sometimes. Doubt whoever introduced me to 'Dirty Granny Tales' is still that into them.

Terence Hill, as recently confirmed during an interview to an Italian TV talk-show, was offered the role but rejected it because he considered it "too violent". Dustin Hoffman and John Travolta declined the role for the same reason. When Al Pacino was considered for the role of John Rambo, he turned it down when his request that Rambo be more of a madman was rejected.
