It's not a great list this year by the looks of it. I really want to see PJ Harvey win but that more than likely won't happen as the prize will probably go to Adele *yawn*. I was surprised to see Anna Calvi get nominated, her debut album was pretty good but not one of the best of the year. I think the big exclusion though is Wild Beasts - Smother, that album should definitely have been nominated. A disgrace.

Totally agree that Wild Beasts should have made the cut but I'm starting to think Mercury might be losing their edge. It seems they are slowly creeping to a more commercial side with Adele, Katy B, Tinie etc.
Plus, whilst that piano album by Gwilym Simcock features some lovely tunes, it's certainty not going to win whereas Wild Beasts should have been in with a great shout. |

Quite a poor list. Hopefully it goes to PJ or James Blake, but even then I didn't care much for their releases this year.

Because of these awards I've discovered Ghostpoet, and I really like his music!! Really laid back, and regardless of whether he wins or not (I dont think he will) I'm glad to have found him.
