"Bryant Clifford Meyer" - okay, but who? I think most people have never heard of him or Isis. Geoff Downes is a decent-looking guy, but that doesn't mean he isn't nerdy - I don't know if he is. Trent Reznor is more than just a keyboard player, and he does have a nerdy side, in my opinion. Described as "a geek before geeks were cool."
I guess I would describe as nerdy much more interested in technical details than sex and money/power or emotional experience. Piano seems more soulful than keyboards. |
Looks can certainly be deceiving if that's how we are defining 'nerdy.' Nearly all keyboardists have a rough side especially once they are out on stage.

Learning to play the piano takes more skill. They are probably quite nerdy because a lot of them come from well off families who can afford to pay for lessons and are usually well educated. Not always the case, a lot of normal members of society play the piano, it's just stereotype.
