I saw them last night and amazing isn’t a good enough to describe it. Chris was a spectacular front man filled with a great sense of humor. The opening bands Snow Patrol and Howling Bells were great too, though I enjoyed Howling Bells alot more. When they took stage the arena wasn’t even half full yet but still they played to us like it was. Snow Patrol had a great stage presence but the music overall I thought sounded kind generic. At times I caught myself yawning. Then Coldplay came onto the pitch black stage with sparklers in their hands with Life In Technicolor playing. Throughout the show Chris was very playful with the audience made jokes about American Idol among things. And for us in the back they actually ran down to the back to play a couple of acoustic songs. Even if you’re not really into them you should see them, just because of the show they put on. Sadly my camera died about halfway through Clocks and I had too take some ****ty pics with my phone when the came close. I'll upload pics later.
Setlist (order may not be correct, I'm going on memory): Life in Technicolor Violet Hill Clocks In My Place Yellow 42 Strawberry Swing Fix You God Put A Smile Upon Your Face/Talk (techno version) The Hardest Part/Post Cards From Far Away Viva La Vida Lost! Glass of Water Cemeteries Of London (acoustic back set) Green Eyes I'm a Believer (Monkees Cover) Death Will Never Conquer Encore 1: Politik Lovers in Japan Death and All His Friends Encore 2: The Scientist Life in Technicolor ii

^ I saw them live a couple of months ago and I also thought it was an amazing concert. I wasn't really a huge fan before I went but I must admit that seeing them live was an experience. They had lots of 'special effects' like lasers, and giant yellow balloons bouncing on the crowd during Yellow, and glow in the dark butterflies falling from the roof and shit. They also interacted with the crowd lots and even went INTO the crowd and played a little acoustic set amongst everybody. I was impressed.

While Coldplay are getting to become a better band live, I still think that Chris Martin's voice can be too weak, because if you look at some gigs of Viva La Vida or Lovers in Japan, you'll clearly see that he has trouble reaching the high notes. It might be because he dances like a madman so much though.

What were you pissed off about might I ask? I love Coldplay too, and judging from Ssweet Nothing' description, it sounds like they put on one hell of a show! Still jealous after seeing that post again since a few months ago... hehehehe

I definitely have to catch them on their next tour... actually they're one of the (thankfully many) bands my wife and I agree upon, so I wouldn't have to work too hard to get her to come with me!
