I am not a huge Coldplay fan. Spies from their debut is a phenomenal track but a lot of their music seems balnd to me. The new album is everywhere and even though I try to ignore the commercial beats, I found my interest piqued by the blipverts I heard.

I am listening to the new album now and I have to say that I am very intrigued.

Where is it that you hear stairway over and over again? I haven't heard that song on the radio in years.

Just because you're stuck in some backwoods ****hole in Kansas or something doesn't mean Zeppelin's to blame.

Yeah, I find Coldplay to be quite hit and miss - there are some great tracks but there's a fair bit of bland filler too.

Either way, my flatmate has been listening to their new album and he said you can tell that they're in a position where they can experiment a bit more... there's not such a need to placate a fanbase now. I haven't yet listened to it.

I am very impressed with the new album. No big crowd pleasers, a little sense of experimentation and a distinct lack of the bleeding heart from Mr.Martin.

if coldplay released shorter albums they would be phenomenal. im talking brilliant, but all those great songs are hidden under so much filler.

Violet Hill

This probably isn't just a shortened version of the official video (which would be a goddamn shame), but I just had to post it because it's absolutely perfect.

Bump!
I've been listening to the new album quite a bit lately.
I'm liking it a lot! Sounds quite a bit different from their previous works.
I can definitely see the Brian Eno touch in it
