I agree that reinvention on the Radiohead scale would be ridiculous, but I like a little evidence of trying to push forward all the same. At any rate, maybe the album does have more merit than I give it credit for... BTW, if you've heard it already, what would you say of the new record? I am yet to hear it and am very curious as to how different it is to previous material. |

On a whole I think it's a more optimistic, poppier record than anything they've ever done. And even though I'd say it's their weakest record, it's still a very good effort (for me obviously, it would have been hard to top X&Y), that's just how much I think of them... I'd give it a 7/10 (objectively yeah, subjectively it's more like an 8 )

Personally when I first heard Yellow it didn't settle well with me, I thought there wasn't much in the song that would make me remember the song. I should give it another listen since I haven't heard it in ages and I might actually think differently, but until than my statement stands |

Look at the stars,
Look how they shine for you, And everything you do, Yeah they were all yellow, I came along I wrote a song for you And all the things you do And it was called yellow So then I took my turn Oh all the things I've done And it was all yellow Your skin Oh yeah your skin and bones Turn into something beautiful D'you know you know I love you so You know I love you so I swam across I jumped across for you Oh all the things you do Cause you were all yellow I drew a line I drew a line for you Oh what a thing to do And it was all yellow Your skin Oh yeah your skin and bones Turn into something beautiful D'you know for you i bleed myself dry For you i bleed myself dry Its true look how they shine for you look how they shine for you look how they shine for you look how they shine for you look how they shine for you look how they shine look at the stars look how they shine for you One of the best love songs ever written...
