Seriously though, I don't dislike the beginning of the song, just the first verse and by the time the chorus kicks in I'm beginning to grit my teeth.
By the second verse I'm homicidal. By the time the song has finished, I'm suicidal.
For the rest of the day I find myself singing the damn song constantly over and over again with a fake Southern American accent.
And trying to reproduce the sound of a banjo!!!

i really can't stand it when people passionately hate this band. simply because i can't find a flaw with guns n roses, well' the old line up at least, imo appetite for destruction was a god send. the singer was a fantastic lyricist and vocalist. guitarists were fantastic, drummer was solid but not flash, bassist was tight and wrote sweet bass lines. they we're a great band or if anything atleast decent, i could harly call them the worst band ever, and i can't understand who could even think 'sweet child o mine' is the worst song ever written, ok it's a little overplayed, that being the usual excuse for people who would claim it's terrible, but that's just not a valid excuse at all if you ask me, so tell me, what has this fantasticly well written song done to deserve the title of one of the 'worst song ever'?

It's got a supremely annoying guitar riff. Maybe not the worst song ever persay, but definitely one of the most overrated, from one of the most overrated bands ever. Most of their songs are emotionless and formulaic, at least to me. But cuz i've had to hear that one so much, it stands out.

the main riff to sweet child o mine the band has publically said was just a joke riff slash came u with that ended up in the record books, as for having no emotion civil war is one of the few songs that really gets to me and im about as emotional as a can of beans. that ooze motion in their music.

and if you believe they're over rated you atleast can't judge a band by it, i mean you can't hate a band because people like them, that's a ridiculous notion.
