The OP has a monthly bandwidth download limit that's why it matters to not go with the higher quality.

I can agree with this, but if a rip with a lower bitrate is the only thing that I can find of a certain album, then I would either take it or buy a physical copy if I wanted higher-quality sound.

And not everybody has 1TB hard drives. I don't, so I don't download in FLAC.
