Blues/Progressive?
I'm just taking a survey to see which style of rock members here listen to the most. Blues rock or Progressive rock? or Other? sub-genres, etc.
Feel free to explain your preference of choice. While traditional rock and roll is ultimately based on the blues. Progressive rock tends to be based more in European classical music. Last edited by Necromancer; 07-17-2011 at 01:41 AM. |

Blues Rock
I voted for the blues rock because R&B/Blues/Funk/Soul are mainly my favorite genres and styles. But when mixed with rock & roll. Bands like the Rolling Stones (emerge), Led Zeppelin (the blues rock band that influenced prog. more than any other), Black Sabbath, ZZ Top. Aerosmith, Bad Company, Deep Purple, and so on.
From Blues Rock, I either go back to R&B artist and bands, or forward to 70s Funk artist and music. I still love my progressive as well, I just actually listen to the blues/R&B orientated bands and artists music the most. |

My only real question here is why you limited us to blues, progressive, and a fill-in-the-blank other box. You should have gone through all the major forms of rock music, and some of the non-major ones as well.
That said, I listen to blues rock more than progressive rock. And traditional blues more than blues rock. |

I'm mainly only concerned with the majority of listeners to Blues rock or Progressive rock. Its not that hard or to much trouble for someone to explain why they may like a different genre or sub-genre other than the two listed. |

If you count Art-Rock as Prog, then I guess it'd be that for me. Mind you I like a lot of bands who branch out to both genres. But a few more options in the poll would have probably been better, as has been pointed out.
