MusicBanter's Official As All Hell Ongoing Terrible Song Competition!

(MBOAAHOTSC)

The rules -

1 - No totally unknown stuff. Your friends terrible band who farted their EP into a butt mic might be terrible, but its not the idea. I'm not saying it has to be top 100 stuff, or terrible chart toppers, but I'm trying to get you to post music at least SOME other people have heard of.

2 - You must state the Year Of Release, so that we can make pointless comments about which decade sucks more.

3 - A youtube or soundcloud link MUST be provided for your nominations, we all need to be able to hear the terribleness for ourselves. No link? Don't even bother posting until you've hosted it on a streaming service for our listening (dis)pleasure.

4 - Try and lean to the mainstream. Everyone already knows how crappy sounding black metal noise bands can be.

Obviously we have to start this thread somewhere, so I'm gonna start off with this, by terrible europop band Eiffel 65!

djchameleon 06-30-2011 04:55 PM

no way!

Eiffel 65 had more than one song?

I thought this was the only song they ever made

Worse, they made more than one album! YouTube - ‪Eiffel 65 - 80's Stars (Original Video with subtitles)‬‏

Whitney Houston: "I Will Always Love You"
Year: 1992

I'm pretty sure I've mentioned this somewhere on MB before, but this song is Terrible not only because of it's overwrought, Velveeta awfulness but also because it was impossible to escape back in 92.

Charlemagne 06-30-2011 07:33 PM

I give you... Dot Dot Curve :)
Song: Fuckmylife
Album: Everyday Is Halloween
Year: 2009

I willed myself through that whole song, it wasn't easy. Nothing like a guy screaming mixed with autotuned vocal tracks and a repetitive electronic beat in the background. And yes, the smiley face is a part of the band name.

I played this song at a pub in the U.K. back in 2004 on a video jukebox. Let's just say the barkeep was pretty pissed and immediately refunded my quid.

Necromancer 06-30-2011 08:31 PM

The Waitresses, (New Wave) single, I Know What Boys Like from their 1982 debut album, Wasn't Tomorrow Wonderful. Its so awful its almost good?

Only this song you don't like? Or do you hate her in general?

I mean I have only heard one song from her and it was better because of the remix but ty Saw 4 soundtrack

The_Mop 07-01-2011 04:58 AM

Warning: This song is both genius and terrible in equal measure. A very thorough guide in how to rhyme 'shit' and 'bitch'.

Oh yeah, it was released 1989.

BLOG27 - Hey Boy (Get Your Ass Up)
Year: 2005
Album: <LOL>

Urban Hat€monger ? 07-01-2011 08:21 AM

I don't know what was worse. This song or the 5 BILLION remixes that it seemed to spawn at the time.

Not to mention that at the time it seemed anyone with a magazine, newspaper, TV or radio show was hailing her as some kind of musical genius, while I just sat there in a stunned silence wondering if the world had indeed gone mad.

Genius, pah
Where is she now eh?

Urban Hat€monger ? 07-01-2011 08:25 AM

And you can fuck off as well.

Urban Hat€monger ? 07-01-2011 08:26 AM

And you

music_phantom13 07-02-2011 01:55 PM

It's just like that Missy Elliot song all over again...

On a side note, are Crash Test Dummies really that bad? I've heard of them from people but never actually listened to them. But that song was horrible, it took me until after the first chorus to realize they were serious and trying to make an actual, not funny, song.

Rob Tyner: It's Only Rock 'n' Roll
Album: Blood Brothers
Year: 1990

I'm sure you all know about the legendary MC5, but unfortunately Rob Tyner (the singer for MC5) completely lost it after MC5 broke up. It's sad, it truly is.

To be fair, you could have put just about any of their material on here and it'd sound exactly like this.

I think I'd enjoy this one a lot more if it wasn't playing in every damn department store in the United States.

djchameleon 07-02-2011 04:49 PM

I like that Dido song

If my heart could write songs it would sound like that.

So many crunkcore songs. I can pretty much say crunkcore is one of the stupidest and shittiest genres in history.

This 2010 song by a no-name Canadian electropop duo somehow gets massive airplay where I live. At only around 250 last.fm listeners, this may be the worst case I have ever seen of CanCon's evil work. Probably my most hated song right now.

Yelawolf - I Just Wanna Party
2010
One of the most cliche rap/hip hop songs I've heard in awhile. A perfect example of rap/hip hop gone bad, Pretty ****ty.
