I nominate the lyrically complex and ever meaningful song "Doop". IMHO, it just is one of those songs that stays in your head...all day..or at least for an hour. Or more.
Year of release: 1994

Hey, I like The Waitresses :p:
I'd like to mention dutch band Gompie's cover of New World's song made famous by Smokie who also covered it, the already awful hit "Living Next Door to Alice" (you get so friggin' tired of it, right?). If you've had the misfortune of hearing this, you'll know all they did was add "who the **** is Alice?" to the refrain.
If you're wondering if this is obscure, it's not really. This was a popular song in Europe in 1995.
Bloody awful!

I actually like that particular single;). I haven't heard much of their music other than that though.
I scanned through Wikipedia and come to find out, they are from Akron, Ohio here in my home state. Labeled as (experimental new wave).
I think Devo is from the same city as well. (I don't know if that is a "good sign"? or not?)

I nominate this. A truly terrible tune.

I never understood that whole "waving your hands because it makes me look tough while I sing this song" crap that bands like this, Sugar Ray...well pretty much most boy bands do. It doesn't make them look tough..just makes them look like farted IMHO.
The whole song reminded me of that show "Jersey Shore" for some reason...
