what an interesting list for 2011 ....it seems to me that what ever wins is going to be a damn good listen

on that....

1) What are this albums' strengths?

great ambient post rock....a little dreary with weird moments of hope
2) What are its weaknessess?
i suppose if you really don't like this type of stuff....it could be a bit trying....i love this type of stuff and actually found the songs to be a bit short....thankfully they kind of blend
3) How does it compare to the artist's other work?
not sure but plan on looking into this
4) Favourite songs?
like i said above the whole album kind of blends perfectly....but as i recall i really liked track four (blur my thoughts again) and five (Early Evening Reverie) and the final track
5) What feelings did this album evoke?
very despondent....with little glimmers of dreamy hope...i loved this about it....for as light of the music can be....this album is extremely heavy in a very good way
6) How does this album fit into your regular rotation?
this one will stay for a while
7) What stood out to you about this album's themes, musically/lyrically?
as i said i love the glitters of hope wrapped all around the thick wall of whirling sound
8) If you've had any noteworthy experiences with this album, what have they been?
driving through the mountains on a grey overcast day....this is the perfect soundtrack
9) What do you know about this album's creation? Any interesting facts or anecdotes?
nada
10) How does this album represent the chosen theme?
i don't think i would ever really equate this to "winter" per say.....but i do see how someone else could....so well done
11) How does this album compare to other albums nominated for this theme?
much better than all of the albums i've heard in that list....including mine
12) How does this album compare to others in its genre?
very well
13) Can you recommend similar albums to this?
i'm sure i could but not right off the top of my head
14) What does this album's artwork say about it? Is it well paired with the music?
i kind of feel the art work lacks.....but thats fine for this type of stuff
