I went for I Often Dream Of Trains because I like the sound of the title and the cover photo is a nice, low-key scene.
Also, I got scared off by some of the louder genres on offer here. If the poll doesn`t change much in the next few days, I`m going to be listening to Noise Rock for the first time in my life !

I hope people actually listen to the albums before voting. Quite a few of the comments on here suggest people aren't doing that.

I have heard the Hitchcock album in the past but it didn't really convince me.

It's better if you haven't listened to the albums before voting. One of the main points of albums clubs is to discover new music by listening to albums you haven't heard before and then having a discussion on it and telling what you thought of it. That's what makes it interesting. Not much point in just voting for your favourite album.

Well, the whole point (at least for me), is to hear something new and discover it with others.

It was a toss-up between Bathory and Butthole Surfers but I went with Bathory. I have the song 'In Conspiracy With Satan' off that album and I'm interested in hearing the entire thing. I love that raw, primative metal sound as well.
I like it for simply how it sounds, as well; great momentum and energy, and the production does anything but hamper the sound. Really great stuff. I also like the album because of how punk it is, for lack of a better word. Quorthorn himself talked about how - leading up to the recording - he was mainly listening to Manowar & The Exploited, and he really, really hit the punk mark.

Of course. But if I vote on something I like to do it from a position of knowledge than just pre-existing preferences like maybe some might.
