1984...like every year....had some really great albums.....this is up there for my favorite

Butthole Surfers - Psychic.....Powerless.....Another Man's Sac

persoanlly i think this is their opus....and it was their first "proper" album.....a perfect blend of coarse noise, punk attitude, and complete incoherent drug induced rantings....this album is like the perfect weekend you can't remember...but you love looking at the scars left all over you

As are RYM's charts for 1984.

Don't you think it would be easier if we just post the albums here and give some information on them? That way... the participants can know a little bit more about an album before they vote.

Use RYM instead. Better than All Music for these things.

All album discussion is going to take place in this one thread. At the same time, nominations and voting will be occurring during the cycle.

During voting week, I could post a list of the nominated albums and what the nominator has said about them, but only one of the many nominations so far has come with any sort of background information.

I think you've got a very good point, but I'm not sure how is the best way to keep the thread tidy at the same time (without having everyone resubmit, or requesting everyone include a description).

What if I make a post of the nominations, and include links to their RYM and wiki pages, for those who are interested in reading about them first?

I can't write blurbs for them though, because I won't have heard most of them.

Sounds good. Or just go with whatever you were originally going to do, either way works.
