Sounds like a great idea, and I like the clarity of the introduction. I`m voting Early Electronic too as Conan has got me intrigued !
( If Aw Sugar had a similar club, I wonder why I didn`t see it. )

Good to see so many voters! Hopefully this will make for a decent amount of selection.

I wanted either early electronic or concept album to win because (like Conan) I have a pretty mind-blowing album myself. Looks like 1984 won... I don't think I have an album from that year.

Poll's not closed just yet!

I will be recycling the themes, so you might pull it off next time. Keep an eye out.

I better be getting a MIND BLOWING album from 1984, because that was the last thing on my list to vote for. :-p

1971 could still feasibly take it.

I already voted, but when you say "one hit wonder" do you mean:

1. An artist that had a big hit song and nothing else. (This could be fun, rating who had the better filler material )

2. An artist that had a long career and released that one great album and nothing else noteworthy.

Added a new clause regarding themes to the first post, last bullet point.

The bolded. Artists known as one-hit wonders. Blind Melon, Joydrop, Republica, A Flock of Seagulls, etc.

The Theme for the first General Album Club has been chosen: ALBUMS FROM 1984, suggested by CaptainCaptain.

All remaining themes will be saved for future clubs.

NOMINATIONS FOR ALBUMS BEGIN TODAY AND WILL BE OPEN FOR ONE WEEK.

Don't be apprehensive to recommend an album that is common knowledge; there are always people who haven't heard it, and it can bring in more people to discuss it who aren't in the mood to download a totally new album.
