I don't call 17 votes a dead thread, especially when most active clubs here are working off of 3 or 4 votes a week. I'm still very happy with the turn out of voters and listeners every month here, because I've seen threads like this do a lot worse.

I'd like to know what you actually thought of the album, Bastard?

Perhaps if people voted for what they actually wanted to hear instead of squandering votes, we won't have a problem like this again. Similarly, I would hope that nominators would be familiar with the albums they put up for listening.

Is there anyone here who enjoyed this album? I would genuinely like to hear from you.

i thought you could make the poll to where the public can see who voted for what.....

this is far from a "dead" thread.....there is quite a bit of participation....i mean you can't honestly expect 17 people to actually listen to and write a review of an album....i think i counted four or five reviews of this....which is pretty damn good

and then there is just simple discussion going on.....most of the time pertaining to music and the particular subject....far from dead

Iced earth made it into my 7 days list on last fm with 11 plays.....right next to Sabbath Assembly

i was just joking on how i voted for an album going "no way this will win, but wouldn't it be funny if it did"... I voted for the album they day it came up to vote, not last minute.

Need more people to contribute.

But I will listen to the album later and maybe add something. Just finished one for Metal Wars, and that was an hour long chore to get through... need a better time to venture down that road again.

Blarobbarg, do not be embarassed or play the I Screwed Up card cause of the reaction it caused, just remember for the future... dropping Iced Earth in the company of David Bowie, The Kinks, Frank Sinatra and the likes.... is not good. Indie folks generally do not like Metal, unless it is Opeth, Alcest, Agalloch etc... than they may like it. Those 3 bands have become the "i do not even like this type of music, but this is actually good"... because it takes the style they play and makes it more accesible for the masses. Better chance of it working cause those 3 bands have become the hipsters choice for their respected associated style... Opeth says, I can like Death Metal without actually having to like Death Metal.

seriously though, Metal is often viewed by those people as a low brow style of music. I would say you can at least take pride in the fact it won and you got people to spend the time to actually listen to it, but looks like that is not true either. People will just skip it because anyways. But you got a couple to do it, so pat yourself on the back.
Thread aint dead yet. Like the others have said, 17 voters is quite good!

I'm not embarrassed because people didn't like my metal album, I'm embarrassed because I chose a metal album that kind of sucks.

And I don't feel good about getting a couple of people to listen to metal if they listened to very subpar metal. :p

And the winning theme is INSTRUMENTAL ALBUMS! Right on, let's get nominating.

Probably should have asked this question before I sent in my suggestion...

How strict are we being, regarding how instrumental something is? Like, if there are voices on one song, but it's like in the background and it's not singing, does that count as instrumental?

which are usually instrumental
