I cant really think of any stand out bonus tracks off the top of my head, I generally see bonus tracks as ones that were not good enough to be part of the album

I'm with Nosferatu. I rarely, if ever, hear a bonus track and think it's better than anything else on the album. In fact, it usually serves to really break up the album "experience" for me.

Unless you're counting secret tracks, or hidden tracks not listen on the CD case... I have heard some REALLY excellent hidden songs.

Sometimes. I prefer Under the Gun to anything else off of Hot Fuss from The Killers.

The fast version of "Night After Night" is pretty cool as a bonus track on Dying to Say This to You by The Sounds. However, I really like the slow version of Night After Night too.

Richard: Nothing, I just prefer the other....

Barry: BULLCRAP!!!

Rob: How can it be "bullcrap" to state a preference????

Phil Collins, "We Said Hello, Goodbye" CD bonus track - it might be my favorite song from No Jacket Required. (Yeah, I just loudly shouted that I'm not cool.)

A lot of bonus tracks can be singles that were never included on an album.

Such as on CD re-issue of The Fall's The Frenz Experiment album.
That has their 3 top 40 singles on it, Ghost In My House, Hit The North & Victoria.

The actual album itself is one of The Fall's worst.

I can think of a few examples...one of the strongest songs on Tegan and Sara's Sainthood (and one of my all time favorites of theirs) was "Light Up" an iTunes store bonus track.

One of my favorite Hold Steady songs, Ask Her For Some Adderall, was a bonus track on Stay Positive and another one of my favorites, For Boston, was a bonus track on the Australian release of Boys and Girls In America.

The extended edition of High Violet has a studio version of "Wake Up Your Saints" which was one of my favorite songs by The National, even though I only had a live version until that came out. Also, the iTunes bonus track version of Alligator included the song Santa Clara (originally from their Cherry Tree EP) which is up there with some of their best songs.

I think I might love Bangers & Mash on In Rainbows a bit more than most of the tracks on it.
