Yeah, I actually was really into the Eternal for a week or two (I wouldn't say it stuck, though). Definitely a solid release, but nothing exceptional as a whole. 'Antenna' was surprisingly great (I'm surprised that Thurston can do vocals like that, then again, it is Sonic Youth), and a few other Kim tracks were great stuff, too.

I see what you're saying about Bad Moon Rising. I quite like it, but I definitely understand why it would not be liked by some -- It's often too identity-less for its own good. [stereotypical] I'll likely always see Daydream Nation as their greatest, most flawless, epic release, though. [/stereotypical]

'Daydream Nation' top of the pile for me too, no arguments there.

I haven't listened to many of the SY albums that people seem to hate but I enjoyed Rather Ripped. 'Reena' is one of my favorite Sonic Youth songs and there's a bunch of other good ones on there.

Roses gets stuck in my head so randomly

It makes me punch myself in the neck, often.

A classic example of lo-fi idealism gone too far.

If I had to pick a The Hives album to include in this list it would easily be The Black and White Album...
