I thought it was better than the bulk of With Teeth.

-Weezer- Make Believe...dear god that was garbage.

-Bob Dylan- Street Legal...I may not have listened to it enough, but I really couldn't get into it. Note that I have not heard a lot of the stuff considered his worst.

- Coldplay- X&Y...I'm not one of those people who think they are amazing, but I enjoy most of their stuff even if it is cheesy. This album had very few likable tracks and just seemed too safe even by their standards.

- Conor Oberst- Outer South...I couldn't even listen to the whole thing.

- The Cure- Wild Mood Swings...I may play it again and try to find something to like about it.

- Michael Jackson- Invincible...had a few decent songs, but he tried way too hard to appeal to the tastes of early '00s pop radio.

- The New Pornographers- Challengers...Some really good songs, but most of it was pretty meh. It didn't hit me like their previous albums did.

- Pink Floyd- A Momentary Lapse of Reason...eh.

- The Strokes- First Impressions of Earth...It contains some of the best and worst songs of their career so far. They sort of burned out rather quickly, but I still love their first two albums.

- Wilco- Sky Blue Sky...I may need to try it again. Not a lot stood out to me, but it's been well over a year since I've heard it.

90125 - the most popular of the Yes albums, it's RIAA triple Platinum, it's the worst type of 80's music, and no Steve Howe.

I like 90125, but I'd argue that CttE is the most popular yes album.

Odd that was my first year on my own which I'm assuming if you went to college right after high school we'd have been the same age, perhaps it's becoming some kind of new transition.

you people overreact like bollocks. the album really isn't a big departure, they've been getting more and more accessible (read: Caleb can actually sing now). their last was just more polished than earlier works, what a big fuck.

at least you didn't call them sellouts like all the other idiots out there.

They admitted themselves they wanted to reach a larger audience, and I'd say it's a lot different. It's actually unlistenable to me, becuase it's just so bloody boring, all the attidude and songwriting is out of the window for radio friendly and utterly ****e songs.

Our Love To Admire by Interpol. I love Turn On The Bright Lights. I love Antics, sometimes I prefer it to TOTBL, but I absolutely hated Our Love To Admire.

seems kind of judgmental, don't you think?

admittedly i prefer Because of the Times more, but i don't think Only by the Night is a bad album by any stretch of imagination. sure, it's more polished but it's not like they completely changed their style. it's the same dirty, southern rock that they pushed through on their earlier albums. just because it's something the general populace can enjoy doesn't make it bad.

No, making an accessible album isn't bad, but making a bad album is, I got the leak, and was incredibly excited about it, but was severely dissapointed. It's not dirty anymore, the swagger has gone, and the guitars are boring. It was just a massive snorefest, and a complete departure, becuase they had been developing so well.
