...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead - Worlds Apart The lowest point in their career, a total disappointment after Source Tags & Codes. Yet they gained a lot of new fans with it. The follow-up, So Divided, was only slightly better with a few stronger tracks, and thankfully they've redeemed themselves with The Century of Self. Skinny Puppy - The Greater Wrong Of The Right Meh...just meh. I was glad that they reunited because it gave the opportunity to finally see my favorite band live, but the album was generally a disappointment. Some of the tracks worked really well live, but the studio versions don't do much for me. The follow-up was a bit more interesting to me and I'm curious where they go with the forthcoming one. Eight Frozen Modules - Confused Designer To its credit, I've only played this album once. But the rest of 8FM's albums have struck me so hard that I just don't think this one works for me. The others are a mind-blowing mix of Autechre, Venetian Snares and Aphex Twin. It's like having your brain sliced and rearranged in a different order. There's always something interesting going on. However this album is a bit more monotonous, annoying noises and sounds going on for far too long, etc. It's a bit more ambient and don't do it for me. Granted it's his debut so he hadn't developed his style quite yet. Squarepusher - Just a Souvenir I can barely make it through this album it's so ****ty/mediocre. What a disappointment, should have downloaded it first.

Catch-22 by Hypocrisy
the nu metal sounding drums and guitar riffs along with crappy vocal production did not do that album any good in my books, however their 2008 re-release of it was pretty good and gives off the sound of what nu metal should sound like. |

Ween - La Cucaracha Maybe if I played this more it would grow on me. But really you could say that about any album...you hear it enough times you know the songs and may like them. But there's just really nothing that interests me about it. The songs just seem lame, rehashed, and boring to me. Each album previously seemed to offer something new and exiting but not here.

For the longest time "The Mollusk" was my favorite Ween album but after lengthy plays of "La Cucaracha" it began to overtake it. "12 Golden Country Greats" is probably my second favorite Ween album. |

Overtaking The Mollusk?! Unpossible!
12 Country Greats actually turned me off from them after Chocolate and Cheese. I moved on and didn't go back and listen to the albums that came after 12 Country Greats until about 5 years ago. Boy was I missing out (The Mollusk, White Pepper, Quebec). I'm just not a fan of country but now that I've actually heard the full album I do enjoy some of the songs, I just don't listen to it as much as others. I appreciate old country more than I did when it came out, so that helps. I'll give La Cucaracha another try one of these days. "Your Party" is a terrible single though, I've heard it a few times on the local indie station and always wonder "why? why that song?" There are better songs on the album but they just seem like self-parodies at this point.

Gotcha, I've overplayed albums I love too. I guess The Mollusk is still great for me because I really didn't hear it till about 5 years ago. I could say Pure Guava and Chocolate and Cheese were overplayed by me during my "lifted" days.
