How do i increase the quality of a mp3 song?

hi,

i have a mp3 of the song "Jump around" by House of pain. But it plays at teh rate of 68Kbs, so i believe that causes it to play in a low sound and low quality. So is there way to improve it's quality, or could you give me link to a better version of it?

thanks

If it's bad quality you can't make it better. The data just isn't there.

you probably got too many songs in you mp3 already. usually that causes a delay or buffer when playing, if i'm not mistaken. you may delete those that you are sick of listening anymore or just transfer them to another file.

They asked how to improve the bit rate of an MP3, not how to conserve space on their iPod or whatever.

hi, i suggest you get a free youtube to mp3 converter and simply re-download the song but a better quality version

This is some of the worst advice I've read, ever :p:

You can download it illegally or you can do the right thing and buy a better copy, for example from Amazon.

for your information, capturing the stream of something isn't illegal, which is what the youtube to mp3 converter does. it is completely legal capturing the stream. i do however, agree that buying the song will give you the best quality possible :P

I didn't think your advice stunk because it was illegal. The reason I didn't like it was that a youtube video is by far most likely going to have low quality lossy sound and a recording of that sound is going to be even lower quality so when it comes to advice for getting a higher quality version of an mp3, that's just not a good way to do it.

just go on legalsounds, everywhere else is a rip off or illegal

LOL, true ... your best bet is to get a better quality version of the song. MP3's can not be improved too much once they have become MP3's. The technical reasons are too much to try explain just know that a low quality MP3 will stay that way even if you convert it back to wave and back to MP3 again.

how to increase the quality of your mp3

1. burn the mp3 to a cd
2. take the cd and punch 3 holes in it
3. put 3 incense sticks in each of the holes
4. light the incense

your mp3 may not sound as good now, but at least it smells pretty damn good thus increasing it's quality.
