It's interesting to see that their are still awesome supporting fans out there. I also spend a few hundred dollars on artists a year. I spend the most on tickets. Last year spent $250 on the Jay-Z & Eminem concert. Majority of the people are going to just stream music.

I guess I'll say Tegan and Sara is my favorite artist (I don't really have one)
But let's see, bought 4 of their 5 albums at an average of around $16 so that's $64, I saw them in concert twice, first time I paid $20, second time I paid around $85 since I bought a ticket for me and a ticket for my friend. So in total that would be $169 I've spent in total on Tegan and Sara. That's over a few years though. This year I spent $0 on them because they had no CD's out, and I didn't see them live.

I have a bunch of different shirts and hoodies from my favorite band, Dredg. So far this year, ive probably spent around $150 on more clothes, their new album, and tickets to them live.

Zilch.
Mick Jones said he was a-okay with p2p, so **** that I did buy their records, but I'm sure none of the money went to them as they were released before I was even born However for Morrissey I've spent like 50 bucks for one of his concerts. Whatevs, the man's a god to me and his concerts are always worth it. |

As for me... $0.00. But my favorite band hasn't really released any worthwhile material since 1978, so eh. (albeit spawned of two incredible spinoff solo albums... Which I hate to say I stole.)

The thing about how much I spend on Phish is that the vast majority of their fans that I've met spend at least twice as much on them in a given year. I've actually never met a really big fan of the band who hasn't dropped a bare minimum of $75 a year.
This is why Trey's net worth went up last year from $63million to $75million this year. ($9.5million more than Bieber) I know that I could easily just stop buying merchandise or official releases and none of the band members would suffer in the slightest, but I can't do that. They really are good to their fans, good to all of the people who work in their organization, good about donating to charity...if they were complete douches, it'd be easier, but they're not. They seem to have earned intense loyalty from their fanbase.
