Q: Most important modern day rock band in your opinion?

A: I almost want to say Radiohead. They've still managed to maintain immense popularity over an extended period of time, and I can't even count the other modern rock / alternative / indie acts who cite them in their influences. Call them pretentious, overrated, or whatever, but their influence is undeniable, I'd say. Very important in their way.

Q: Which song (or album, or list of songs - whatever) do you feel best describes you, and why?

The Cranberries - To The Faithful Departed. I describes me as it is this deep emotional upheaval of how times were good and now life is tough that we are older. So much destruction on this earth and in relationships can bring us down and make us depressed/angry. It's also describing a longing for a spiritual awaking to know that you are being looked after in your time of need.

My question: what song do you love that no matter how often you've listened to it you never tire of hearing it? And why?

A: The Deftones - Anniversary of an Uninteresting Event.
Why? Because of the sound of the drums.

Q: How many of your actual friends (IRL) actually share your taste in music to an extent worth remarking on?

A: Basically none. That's why I come here.

Q: Which decade had your favorite style of music production?

A: I'd have to say the 90s. The whole grunge and punk thing that highlighted a raw, but clear sound really appealed to me. I can't say whether it was the music or my perspective of it, but for me, I reacted to that the most.

Q: Is country really listened to only by redneck truck-drivin' men and women?

A: Not at all. I thought forever that maybe Bluegrass was a more Southern phenomenon, but even that was proved wrong. I have a friend who moved here from Manchester, UK who was going to move to the states regardless, and the main deciding factor on picking KY was that he wanted to live in the birthplace of Bluegrass and hear real Bluegrass. He loves it, and said that he knew quite a few people who enjoyed country or bluegrass in general.

Q: What song in particular are you tired of hearing covered because it's just too overdone?

A: "Margaritaville"

Q: What is your biggest musical pet peeve?

A: That the Beach Boys' Smile was never finished and released in 1967.
