This will probably come as a surprise but alternative rock is a type of... rock.

I know the thread is closed but I just wanted to point out very quickly that "spelt" isn't a word in US English and instead one would say "spelled". I find that difference interesting as my spellcheck is even not recognizing it. Okay, yes. Closed. Sorry.

Your spellcheck probably doesn't recognize "colour" either. It's because you have it set on "US English" instead of "UK English".

Come to Canada, where we use both US and UK spelling! Wheeeee!!!!!!! Spelt is also correct. As it burnt/burned, learnt/learned, dreamt/dreamed, etc.

That sounds pretty great. I don't really care for the extra U in color or honor, but I've always loved the way program is spelled as "programme".

Or "centre", "theatre" and "cheque". Also, we get to use both Zs and Ss in words like "realised".
