Car Music Etiquette Question
i'm not sure if this belongs here or in THE LOUNGE.
So, in the car my music is usually heavy. Metal kind. that only changes when i need to listen to something else as required by my job. now, one of my bosses is set to ride with me in the car on our way to a meeting. what is the etiquette? should i put something neutral for both of us? or turn it off? |
Play what you like, but quieter so that your boss can converse with you... or just stick to the radio.
What kind of person is your boss? And most importantly how important is is this job to you?
Just blast this in the car and if your boss complains the job really shouldn't matter that much.
I'd say just put on a classic rock station so you don't have to worry about it.

If your question is serious, it depends a bit on the journey time, doesn`t it ? If it`s a long enough journey to justify some music, I`d stick with the radio. That way you`ve always got the option of disowning the music if your boss hates what he`s hearing. On the other hand, if you put on a cd, you`re pretty much committed to defending it, even if your boss says it`s the worst thing he`s ever heard ! |
^ WTF that song's the **** dude.
pfft, if you wanna go with Sleep, blast "Dopesmoker"... make sure to have a good sized joint for you and your boss as well, don't wanna look stingy with the weed.
Put on some Vivaldi to appear intellectually superior.
I'd just stick to the radio, like a pop station or something, and keep it at a reasonable volume - low enough that you can talk but loud enough so it can be heard during awkward pauses in the conversation :D
