Not sure if someone suggested this already but I'd go with one of those audio book things. Something about some important world issue, it makes you seem smarter.

If you want to seem smart, play jazz.

I think with somebody like your boss who's opinion of you has a very strong bearing on day to day life it is worthwhile being neutral. Best hope for listening to something you like is trying to engage him in conversation about music and see what he likes. If you have common musical ground your worklife could become awesome!

the thing is when you're listening to a song with a certain tempo your body will try to match that tempo for example when you're walking or running your feet will be trying to match that tempo or atleast an equal to that tempo (30, 60, 120, 240)

Just pass him the blunt and your boss should be okay with it.

yes, this helps... and the other suggestions too. thanks.

the advantage is that i don't hate all pop music. i just don't prefer it. i just searched my ipod for what's in there. everyone has random stuff there right? i got some of the music he listens to and tried maroon 5 and the script. i find the script more bearable over maroon 5. i think they have more of a style than maroon 5.

yes, i think i'm going for something neutral. i want to make him feel comfortable. he's my boss and i am, most of the time, polite. so i'll go the extra mile and search for some bands whose sound is a bit more like the script. if you have suggestions, please keep it coming.

i'll let you know what happens.

So, he basically likes Adult Contemporary? Head on over to VH1.com and I'm pretty sure they have loads of songs that he would like.

I would just go the complete awkward silence route while hes riding with you. One night before you have to go to work. Eat as much taco bell as you possibly can and wash it down with some chocolate milk. Make sure an put fire sauce on the tacos or whatever you get from the bell also. The next morning eat plenty of eggs and gulp down plenty of chocolate milk. Once hes in your your car and your driving off into the wild blue yonder make sure you hit the child lock so he cant roll down his window. You should be about ripe by this time for some explosive flatulence so let'em rip. Act casual as if nothings wrong till he is absolutley infuriated and then act totally shocked by his rude behavior. You might could even get him to punch you and be well on your way to a promotion once he realizes he ****ed up by assaulting you. If not either way itll be good for some laughs
