Car Music Etiquette is always DRIVER'S selection/choice.

If your boss has a problem with it, let your boss speak up and say otherwise.

Music is a big part of our work so when he needs, to he listens to the heavier sound but that's not his preference.

i still need this job in the next five years.
If that's the case I agree with the people who suggested just putting on a classic rock station or something equally innocuous.

for one thing never pump the volume when driving this is a driving hazard music should be kept at a decent volume where it can be heard by the people in the car but not 100 feet away

another thing music that is extremely high tempo and "noisy" can also be distracting even if you like it

but music that is too slow and mellow can make you fall asleep at the wheel

some normal mid-tempo music would be fine

That's my mom's philosophy. Whatever, at least I like the stuff she listens to. When I'm driving, and I have more than one passenger I take a poll. Either "this, this, this, or nothing" or something like that. I've never had any complaints.

i suppose I'll put on some hymns

otherwise, any other passenger, it's Captain Beefheart, black metal, noise rock at top volume

So, in the car my music is usually heavy. Metal kind. that only changes when i need to listen to something else as required by my job.

now, one of my bosses is set to ride with me in the car on our way to a meeting. what is the etiquette? should i put something neutral for both of us? or turn it off?
put on NPR, seem educated and keep it low.

I usually play neutral music or music I know the others in the car like.
My taste is broad enough so there's always something suitable on my radio.
I like to make people feel comfortable in my home and car, so I play the music we both like. I'm not going to play music I dislike though
