Do You Like or Dislike Women in Bands/as Singers

Its no different than my preference is with male vocalist actually. It all depends on the style and sound of the individual vocalist first and foremost, and of course personal preference.

I like/prefer strong projecting vocalist when it comes to female singers, vocalist like Annie Lennox, Patty Smyth, Pat Benatar, Ann Wilson, Toni Braxton, etc.

Anyway, I'm indifferent. There are male singers I love and some I hate, and same with females. Especially the singer from Flyleaf.

I like variety, though. Good and (here's the key) unique voices.

I didn't think I had an opinion/preference but, looking through my most-played artists, I do tend to stick to groups with male lead singers. Frontwomen often 'work' in metal but they don't seem to do it for me elsewhere.

i can't stand scream at the best of times
but female leads in scream bands.... so grim

I'm gonna fess up; I have a thing for female rock bands. Not to say I'll listen to just anything because women are involved, but if the band is all female and I like their music, it's a huge plus to the deal. Especially "riot grrl" (I hate that term but) bands, or any punk female bands.

If they're just there to 'sexy up' the song, like Bone Thugs-N-Harmony and Snoop Dogg do a lot, then I hate them. Other than that, I will not automatically dislike a female musician because she's female. I judge by talent.

I'm more partial to women in music who aren't in your face about being a woman. I'm not really digging musicians like beth ditto who come across as obnoxious and pretentious with their views. I just like things to sound good, that's all.
