They were a very good band actually. Not too fond of their debut but Clear Hearts Grey Flowers is a cracking album. You should check out Jessika's post-JOJ band Scarling as well.

I saw them open for Lords of Acid back in 97 or 98. I wasn't all that impressed at the time but maybe I should give them another listen.

I think Ann Wilson from Heart has a great voice, and although their 80's ballads are a bit cheesy, her work in "Alone" gets me every time. I also like her back up vocals on Alice in Chains' "Inside Me'... they fit perfectly. You can listen here... Link removed, advertising is strictly prohibited. Please re-read our rules.

Billy Howerdel originally wanted a female lead singer for A Perfect Circle, but he ultimately went with Maynard from Tool-- a wise choice, but I think the band would have worked with a female singer

Most people jokingly say that Jon Anderson and Geddy Lee sound like girls, and they're two of my favorite vocalists of all time, so I guess my answer is it makes not difference to me.

Most bands I listen to have male vocalists, but I gotta say that certain songs just would've been ruined by a male singer.

Example:

Yeah Yeah Yeahs- Tick - YouTube

The Kills - The Last Goodbye (Acoustic) - YouTube

I really like Natalie Maines of the Dixie Chicks, hope she will do something rock one day.

Since I am also a singer, I can only like the idea of a woman in a band
