Allright. You know what I mean now.
It's sort of the same as Dylan's "Nashville Skyline".
It sure sounds a lot more like singing than his other albums do, but it doesn't make him a brilliant singer or something.
I just don't care that much about vocal qualities as long as it goes nicely with the music. Doesn't mean I can't seperate a good singer from a bad one, I guess I just listen differently.
Armstrong isn't a good singer in any way, he just can sing better than he does on Rancid's albums.

Yeah but I didnt post a comic about how **** of a singer Bob Dylan is

Just trying to explain what I mean.

I hate...

KISS
U2
Bruce Springsteen
Celine Dion
Kenny G
Michael bolton

BastardofYoung 05-04-2011 09:19 PM

I can not totally hate U2, since they wrote one of the best rock songs of all-time.

That is about the extent of my U2 Love though, a few songs I like, but that is the only U2 song I love, for it is brilliant.

Another one I need to add to my list, may be controversial to some ears.. but here it goes...

The Doors.

I can not stand them, find nothing of value to them. They just bore me to tears every time I listen to them. Jim Morrison is one guy I never understood the whole rock martyr thing. He to me is no more special than one of those homeless schizos on the street who rant on about the end of the world. Morrison to me is just one of those people who stumbled into a studio one day and started singing into a mic and they decided to keep him in the band because it was kinda fun to watch the self destruction.

Just to illustrate my point, pop this track on then try to get it on.

I feel like I'm going to have a panic attack listening to this. Really torturous and I normally love Coltrane.

I inexplicably hate Destroyer and all of Dan Bejar's work that I have heard. I cannot explain what I dislike about his music, there's just something mildly irritating about it.

I think Coltrane took some flack when he moved away from the quartet format and started releasing more free jazz material, starting with Ascension. I guess maybe he felt creatively restricted with a quartet and possibly with always releasing more "mainstream" jazz, the stuff that the audience wants to hear.
