Again, I like all their albums...I just think Deloused combined just the right amount of progressiveness with amazing song structure and production. After the loss of Jeremy Ward the band never sounded the same.

I get where Omar is coming from with his guitar playing...I just really think there is a fine line between being avant garde and just noodling incessantly on the guitar. Rick Rubin really pulled him back down to Earth.

New Order - except for Republic, which I don't really like besides the singles

I think most of the bands we've mentioned had great beginnings, but got weaker over time. I loved Smashing Pumpkins first 3 albums, but I can't listen to anything after Mellon Collie. Same with Pearl Jam. They just weren't able to keep me listening. Radiohead definitely peaked for me with OK Computer, but since all their music sounds kind of the same to me. The only band I can think of that definitely got better with age was The Beatles. Their albums became really solid as they progressed. St. Peppers, Abby Road, The White Album, Let It Be. They just kept progressing in their songwriting. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think they have the best discography as a result.

I can't listen to half of Mellon Collie, I'd take Adore over that any day. Have you listened to Machina II? It's one of their best albums and not too far behind Siamese Dream and Gish.

Pearl Jam are very hit or miss with me. For every great song like 'Off He Goes' there's always something terrible like 'Lukin'.

I took a look through my music, and had a think about whether there were any artist there for whom I enjoy listening to all their albums, without exception. A few popped out, and one or two these may well get me some flak...

First and foremost, because I can't even think of a song by these guys I don't like:

1) Seatbelts: Before I heard these guys, I didn't think there was such a thing as Japanese Jazz/Blues. Turns out it's exactly the same as any other Jazz/blues, but these guys are fantastic (in my opinion) at what they do, which, according the wiki article "ranges from straightforward big band jazz, blues, acoustic ballads, hard rock, country, funk to electronic, hip-hop and experimental compositions/elements.". As far as I can tell, they never did anything except for the sountrack for the anime Cowboy Bebop, but that is well worth a listen.

2) Incubus: This may not be a popular opinion here. I have no idea how this forum feels about Incubus, but I will happily state that I love their music. They're one of those bands that I come back to again and again, and to all of their albums that I have as well, even the early stuff that I know a lot of incubus fans think is **** :P I will admit, I haven't heard their more recent stuff, and yeah, it's started getting a bit samey, but until such a point as they release a new album like an old one I can still claim that their discography is at least a little varied! :P

3) Radiohead: Yeah, Radiohead. I like Pablo Honey, and I Don't think they went downhill after OK Computer. I will perfectly happily listen to anything they've ever done, and they still form one of the founding pillars of my musical taste, even though it has rather branched out since I first discovered them in my early teens.

There a number of bands that almost made it (Presidents of the USA, so good, except some of their albums are a bit iffy, Supergrass, for everything except for the horrible Diamond Hoo Haa), but I guess this thread isn't about almosts!

I like S.C.I.E.N.C.E. and Make Yourself but I feel like after that the quality of their music took a very sharp nosedive.

In Flames, of the ones I have, I only dislike Clayman and The Jester Race vying with Reroute to Remain at the top spot
