Title should be edited to bands/artists with the strongest discography.

Tom Waits and Elliott Smith deserve to have a spot in any topic of strong discographies.
I was with you until that last one. Smiths greatest contribution to music is to show us what Waits would sound like without talent.

I have to say I kind of agree with that.

I like a lot of Elliott Smith's stuff, but I certianly wouldn't say his discography was that strong, he definitely had his iffy moments. Similarly, I love the pixies, but Trompe le Monde really isn't that great an album.

naw. Elliott was a great talent. Waits and Smith have nothing to tie them together.

"Either/Or" and "XO" are both essential albums. Elliott was a brillant songwriter and musician. It is a shame his appeal will always now be in hindsight.

Can not agree with that statement at all.

Trump may not be their greatest, but it is still a good album in it's own right.

So many I would challenge from people before this one.

Incubus being a major one since none of their material really went beyond the real of mediocrity. Talented musicians, yeah.. but not very good songwriters, Brandon's lyrics are usually bad.

Deftones being on here... they really didn't hit the mark til White Pony, the albums before may of hinted at this album, but at the core owe to much to the nu-metal trend and do not really hold up to this day, sound dated.

Black Sabbath, would not list them at all. First 6 and "Heaven and Hell" are great, but everything else ranges from medicore to bad.

Hard to find anything that is solid really.

Hmm... The Bees. Calexico.
Yes they have 'less good' albums, but I listen to all of them.
I thought Belle & Sebastian would be doing the same, but then they made 'write about love'. Which sucks if you ask me.
Not going to mention the bands with just one album, obviously (last shadow puppets, the good the bad and the queen, I could mention the Raconteurs but that's only two albums so far). White Stripes have a decent discography too. Sleepy sun (2 albums...), Wolf People (2 albums...), Nick Drake definitely, The Slackers...

Yeah, I would say White Stripes discography was not that solid.

Self-Titled, Get Behind Me Satan and Icky Thump were average at best.

De Stijl, White Blood Cells and Elephant were great though.
