I think the young Jim Morrison would have told his latter-day self, " How could you let yourself become such a sad case ?"

That's a fantastic question, actually, and not just for ageing rockers. I wonder how people in their 60's would answer that question, and for how many of them would their younger self have no respect for the older?

I'm sure they'd say (as I'm sure we all will), "Oh my god, I wore THAT!?"

honestly, age really has nothing to do with them changing. i mean, look at ozzy. hes like sixty something and still doing basically the same **** he did when he first started out. His stage antics are the same as before, except since hes getting older, he cant do everything the same, you know? Its all about maturity and whether or not they have kids. also, who the **** cares what theyre like offstage? all that you should care about is whether or not their music is still good

Yes it is all about the music but how they go about themselves is important too. I would probably think twice about checking out a new band's album if one of their songs was being used in an insurance or fastfood advert.

Modern David Crosby looks like Wilford Brimley.

Dave Gilmour has made an amazing transformation from looking like a super cool rocker...

...to looking like the president of a bank.
