I personally know Jeremy from Iceburn, Jets To Brazil, and Insight. He teaches at a afterschool music/film school that I take classes at. Also the manager Matt was in Stella Brass and a played in a few other 90s emo bands. Its awesome to hear all the bands they have played with and the people they are friends with.

First meet:
Smoked a blunt with the drummer of Australian punk band Phrenzal Rhomb, while playing a show in Houma, LA circa 96 or somewhere around there. Less Than Jake was the headliner, and afterwards we [the band I was in] ate at a hole-in-the-wall cajun restaurant with LTJ, although they thought they were too good to talk to us, even though (in my mind) we kicked their asses on stage because we had the local population on our side, and we were already known for riot-starting sorts of behaviors.

Second meet:
In Germany, some friends and I went to a He Is Legend show at a small venue and convinced Schuylar and Mitch (yea it was when Mitch was still strumming) to go drinking with us. Had an all-nighter. This was when they were touring with Norma Jean, and yes, Cory Putman showed up as well. I bought him a beer, can't remember what kind, I was drunk... Also saw him messing around with a girl in the guy's bathroom... as far as I knew at that time, he was both married, and a Christian....... dot dot.

Hrmm.. Haven't really met anyone else that anyone would know. Meaning, no one that really made it or anything. I think the best moment would have to be smoking a blunt with the drummer of Phrenzal Rhomb right before our show. Haven't kept up with them in ages, and I don't even know if they still have the same drummer... but guy, whatever your name is, if you're reading this, you rock.
That second meet is a damn cool story. Not surprised at all about the Norma Jean dude hahaha.

I've met Paul Simon in Singapore, he was a total dick

My conversation was a few words, he muttered something unintelligible and went up to his room with a Chinese chick who loked like a prostitute, the next day he cleared out the entire hotel lobby just to avoid any more "chance" encounters

others:-

I've had tea with the guitarist from local pub legends Storm and I've jammed with the drummer from the then up-and-coming Malay rock band Sofia

edit - I was also pretty chummy with Malaysian songwriter Jenny Chin Abdullah (she wrote some pretty big Mando-pop hits for Taiwanese singers)

I've only ever met the Vines face-to-face in Cambridge many moons agao, not to mention mates of mine who are in some local bands. I've been to a few local gigs and talked to some of the performers over a smoke as well if all counts. I've talked to Tony Vsiconti and Mike Garson online too, but that's hardly meeting someone eh.

I met him whilst he was still in his band PWEI and had a drink with him on my 18th birthday as he lived fairly close. At that time there was no indication that he would go onto making one of the finest soundtracks ever.
