You know what I'm talking about: those songs that a) are terrible in the first place --- generic, copied, souless tripe and b) get played so much that if you hear them one more time someone's gonna die, probably in a hail of indiscriminate bullets!

I can think of one off hand. I don't know what it's called or who sings it (though I feel it may be my nemesis, Rihanna!) but if the girl next door plays it (full blast and repeat, repeat, repeat) one more time....

The lyric, such as it is, is stuck in my head like a brain tumour that just can't be reached by medical science and it goes "Just want to stand here and watch me burn/ That's all right cos I love the way it hurts" or something similar, with an annoying rap and the chorus sung in an annoyingly high voice.

Gaaahh! I HATE that song (in case you didn't realise already)...

Anyone else want to vent?

"Sexual Healing" by Marvin Gaye. Sorry but this "classic" is absolute garbage. This song is so goddamn awful, so cheesy, so boring, so blandly written and produced that it's embarrassing, but people love it for some reason that escapes me, and they insist on playing it everywhere.

Goddammit, I KNEW it was that little, uh, lady! I think young girls in particular seem to often be lazy with music. They'll hear one song they like and play it to death. Even if they have the album, I find they won't (taking my ex-neighbour as an example: she's sixteen I think) bother checking out any other tracks on it, will just keep playing the one song over and over and over, and of course at full tilt with the window open.

Personally, no matter how much I loved a song I could not play it back to back any more than three times at a sitting, and even then it'd be a bit much. Why don't people like this branch out and look for other similar music, if they like that damn song so much? But no: they'd rather just play it till the file gets corrupt (PLEASE!) or the disc starts skipping or whatever.

What did this world ever do to deserve Rihanna, tell me that!

I could mercilessly kill thousands if these songs were playing.

- Just a complete mess of a pop tune. It's hip-hop watered down to the absolute lowest common denominator. The chorus is one of the most annoying things ever composed.

- Same deal with this song. Complete bullshit. Fuck Adam Levine and everything about his stupid voice. I could punch him in the throat ceaselessly.
