very few dubstep artists are "popular" unless you wanna classify james blake and skillrex as dubstep - they've got a couple dubstep tracks. a lot of it all sounds the same (like most genres, and it's not really a bad thing). just honestly search "dubstep" on youtube, listen to what shows up, if you like, use it. and dont use fast techno, this isnt the 90's/early 00's. most folks will be weirded out.
