Well, no. Often, you must compromise your personal goals in order to attain popularity. I don't think it's your place to tell anybody whether they are a success or a failure, not knowing what their intentions were or what they set out to do. There are artists who do not want popularity. It's not that they've settled for less, it's just that music is not solely a pursuit for popularity.

Okay, BY FAR, the best song out of those four was Mom Song. I could tell right away that it really meant something to you.

Next came "Go Hard" (and believe me, that's a pretty big step down).

Want me to be honest about the rest? I hope you do. The other two, in my opinion, sucked. I didn't even bother to listen to the whole thing. I guess you care more about success than actually being an artist, and I knew that from you're posts, but it REALLY comes across in those first two songs. Then again, I am not the "masses," so don't take my advice if all you want is fame.

I guarantee most of those people listen/listened to underground music to some extent.

I think you're ragging on the wrong person here. I'm not the one who blatantly rejected your work. But I'm also not curious enough to do a search for it. I've never said anything about your music. Your music was never the topic of discussion.

I don't like EazyMac's music because it's not popular. He's clearly not doing something properly.

Honestly, I'm just trying to get to the root of your narrow mindedness. Do you believe that chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla are the only flavours of ice cream worth trying because they are the most popular? It's illogical, and you are doing yourself a disservice.

How do you define doing something properly, selling your soul to the music industry?? If that's the case then the likes of Justin Bieber must be doing something really right

Most bands or artists never become popular because their music isn't marketed to musically oblivious 12 year olds or the current musical climate isn't ready for what they do, regardless of how talented and creative they are. Some of the greatest bands i've ever heard have had very little commercial success or popularity.

I have a feeling you listen to music for the wrong reasons.

According to your own way of thinking you'll never get popular. People shouldn't be listening to artists that aren't popular, right? That means there should be no chance of an unknown artist ever becoming popular.

Because you like them?
I don't care if I'm the only person liking a band .
There's so much bands making brilliant music that never really get credit for it.
